Champion sharpshooter Erich Krempel was born on August 18, 1913 in Suhl, Germany. The cousin of fellow champion sharpshooter Friedrich "Fritz" Krempel, Erich won a silver medal in the 50 meter pistol event at the 1936 Olympic games in Berlin, Germany.
