Evelyn Joy, born Evelyn Joy Pointer to a African-American mother and father, is a native of Detroit, Michigan. Even as a young child, she was interested in the performing arts, modeling and as well as enjoying participating in her school recitals at her Catholic elementary and middle school. Evelyn Joy began many extra curricular activities at the age of 7 such as ballet, gymnastics, figure skating, volleyball, and competitive cheer leading.Her favorite became figure skating which she did for 7 years then pursued competitive cheer leading for the rest of her high school career.As she grew older she developed a love for modeling which she was involved in through college, but shortly after graduating she took an interest in acting which she now studies with great focus and determination.
