Laura Butler is a New-York-based singer-songwriter, actress, and model who reached #1 in the folk charts on ReverbNation.com, a site that focuses on the independent music industry. In October, 2010, her music video "Worth It" was screened and well-received at the 1st Annual Astoria/LIC International Film Festival.She has performed in venues all over New York, recently releasing her first album, "Crushing Blue Cupcakes," described as a jazzy-folk delicious blend with the warmth of Norah Jones, uniqueness of Joni Mitchell, phrasing of Billie Holiday, versatility of Judy Garland, and poignancy of Edith Piaf. Her music can be heard on her website, iTunes, Amazon, CDBaby.com, and ReverbNation.Laura is also an accomplished actress and graduated cum laude with a degree in theatre and a minor in music and dance from The Ohio State University. She trained in London with Trestle Theatre, Theatre de Complicite, Actors from the London Stage, Royal Shakespeare Company, and The New Globe. In addition to New York, she has performed with The Human Race Theatre Company, The Cleveland Playhouse, The Wexner Center, and The Dorset Theatre Festival. She studies with acclaimed actress Laila Robins. Laura recently segued successfully into film, and just starred in her first feature.
