Bob and Ruth are happily married couple until the husband is taken to prison after involving in criminal activities. Years after Ruth gives birth to their first daughter, Bob manages to break out of the cells to reunite with his family.

It's one of the best films of the year, and its shrugging Malick comparisons should be taken with a grain of salt - particularly for those of us whose admiration of the man is held with some reservation and qualification.
