Mimic
The story begins with an amazing invention that may change everything. A team of scientists creates a genetic insect that works to stop the spread of a deadly disease that has spread horribly in one region. But only three years later I found that something had happened strangely, as these insects grow and become predatory monsters to destroy humanity decisively.

Del Toro does not make Tyler a symbol of science gone out of control or of science for greed, instead he makes her a scientist who in doing good has created a monster and has to live with that guilt.
