V - Season 1 (1983)
Aliens are fighting a new battle for the preservation of the entity as they pretend to be friendly and suddenly come to earth. Aliens disguise themselves to look like humans so they are not fully exposed in those tasks. Aliens discover that the planet of aliens is collapsing. The war begins to get the planet accurately.

The acting is, for the most part, excellent. We have characters going through real trials, feeling real emotions, and the actors make it work.

The main lesson dates back at least to the 1940s and still holds up today: If you don't stand up for what's right when others are being singled out, there will be nobody left to stand up for you when it's your turn.

What separates V from much TV and movie sci-fi is that it is more than scares and chases, although it has both. It is also an allegory about fascist takeover -- a pulp-comic 1984.
