Walter Clarke was the youngest police commissioner in the history of police in New York City, who presented great challenges in this dangerous entity. Walter was a rising policeman who saved the life of his partner who was shot. Walter will be promoted to the detective where he was offered the position of his choice at that time. Now, Clark has a different experience with more serious criminal cases.

The concept is clever and some of the cast is well above average but the writing, always the most important element of a TV show, is subpar with cliched dialogue that betrays any possible character development.

James and McBride make music together in the way you want any fictional cop partners to and it's a solid, meat-and-potatoes police procedural, and one that could potentially evolve into more depending on how the flash-forwards are used down the road.
