The episode didn't need Geillis for it to feel piecemeal. It's been a season of so many momentous changes that it's hard to imagine a single episode's managing to thread it all back together thematically.

There were several really beautiful shots in "The Eye of the Storm," proving once again that Outlander has earned it's place at the premier television table.

"Eye Of The Storm" induces a whiplash not unlike the suddenly storm that strikes their ship. It's dizzying, and it's hard to find anything to really latch onto.

Most of the finale was made up of large sections of the book condensed and occasionally reordered to make them even more exhilarating.

Ughhhhhhh. Even for a show which is resolutely Too Much, this finale really pushes us to our limits, with extremely mixed results.

It's very likely that Claire and Jamie have as many lives as a cat, given the various arrests, witch hunts, and enemies they have out to do them harm. Yet every single time they seem to escape with barely a scratch, as was the case in this season-ender.
