EPISODE
Proof - Season 1
It is a highly controversial story, in which the series tells of a wonderful and troubled surgeon who is still trying to prove that death is not the end by studying reincarnations and near-death experiences and perhaps this doctor needs a real risk. Serious events begin after the death of her teenage son, divorce, and discord with her daughter where Dr Caroline Tyler is persuaded by Ivan Turing, the technical inventor and billionaire for a new and unique experience. This experiment began by investigating cases of reincarnation and near-death experiments, the most serious and influential experience.

Have you ever had a show that you felt was talking to you? When Carolyn and Peter met in the hallway of the hospital, that's how I felt.

Proof might be trying to earn its PhD in heaven and hell, but it doesn't pass the test of being an even decent television show.
June 17, 2015
Proof feels like a show that takes complex issues and merely skims their surface.
June 23, 2015
Jennifer Beals' tough and prickly characterization of Dr. Tyler helps elevate the show beyond its more earnest tendencies.
June 17, 2015
Beals does hard-edged well, her bluntness an effective buffer against the potential treacle of the weekly cases.

Life after death series mixes science and the paranormal.
June 11, 2015
Proof raises the question whether there is evidence of life after death and gives the impression that the show is going to delay giving an answer for as long as possible. Worse, it seems that the creators really haven't thought it out.

On its own terms - which is as a comforting medical-supernatural drama with a strong female lead designed to follow TNT's Rizzoli & isles - Proof proves its modest worth.
June 18, 2015
This is Beals' show from start to finish, with her character's softer sides and haunted vulnerabilities seeping through that hard-shell casing during Episode 3 in particular.

Proof does not fit the tone TNT has cultivated more recently with The Last Ship and The Librarians. Proof feels like a throwback and a bit of a throwaway, too.
