After he is shocked knowing that his wife betrays him with his barber, Rel decides to leave the house and heads to live with his recently out-of-jail younger brother, Nat, and Rel's prideful dad. Rel struggles as the news of his wife's affair spreads but he tries to forget this bad fate by going through comedy events with his brother, father and best friend, Brittany.

"Rel" feels like it's gone through the dreaded Network Comedy Blender rendering it "networkized," which means the setups are obvious, the payoffs conspicuous.

Diversity in prime-time is both laudable and necessary. But when this is the end result, it's better left undone. C'mon, Fox, do better. Do much, much better than this.
