The series revolves around the history of King Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth Field, which was killed by someone. Richard IV, one of the princes who was planning to gain a great place and different paths, came to power.

Though the writing was strong and the verbal interplay was there, the first series made the mistake of abundance, with Edmund Blackadder too bumbling, the cast too abounding and the sets too sprawling.
