Shani Pride was born and raised in Los Angeles. She found her calling at a young age, and chose to attend the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. After LACHSA, she attended UCLA Theater School, studied and performed abroad in Italy, and began performing in film and television.Pride's love for her craft has been realized across every platform. She has starred in a substantial amount of television shows including American Horror Story, Weeds, The Finder, and CSI:Miami; has garnered critical acclaim for her work in award winning independent films, has co-starred in major studio film projects, and starred in dozens of global commercial campaigns.With years of experience in the industry, Pride's natural progression has embraced the art of producing with the ever increasing actor/producer hybrid. She and her South African producing partners are forming a slate of film and television projects; merging Pride's experience and relationships in Hollywood, with her partners' producing experience and access to global resources. They are guided by their deep desire to create incredibly powerful content that encourages conversation and action. The first feature project of their slate (currently in pre-production) stars Uma Thurman, entitled Girl Soldier, about the on going child soldier crisis in parts of Africa.
