Enjoyed with the super powers he has, Hercules, a youthful fearless and savvy fellow, who battles against the homicide of his family by Hera, the Queen of Gods, and incidents come to climax, when his close companion Lolus, has been kidnapped by the devil, as Hercules figures out how to spare him and joins with him, so as to wander the world, hunting down the frail individuals and help them.

Ah, Hercules. This syndicated show was some truly excellent TV comfort food.

While it may be pretty heady stuff for a guy to slay demons, gods and creatures for a living, writer John Schulian nonetheless succeeds in giving the half-man, half-god believable vulnerability.

Despite its age, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys is an entertaining adaptation of Greek lore, and if your teens do tune in, it might inspire in them an interest in the mythology on which it is based.

Hercules works as a campy romp because star Sorbo is having fun with the role, and neither he nor the producers are taking the character and the setting seriously.

Season one isn't as technically or artistically well done as the seasons to come, but it is still a lot of fun to watch.
