The new season explores a series of events, as Bilker goes undercover in a chicken suit for a mission, while Hunter insults an officer who protects herself and asks for protection from John. Meanwhile, Rookie Swann kills himself after the start party at Kubiak Lodge. There is still ambiguity about this, as Laro Furillo narrates his night with the wife of the murder victim, who has stirred controversy.

Even with its problems, "Hill Street" is still better than most shows. The difference is that it's not THE best show anymore.
