The series begins where Kate and Pitz are visited by a social worker who evaluates each and determines whether they are suitable parents. Lux is torn when her boyfriend, Bug, and her best friend, Natasha, suggest that Kate and Baze may not be in the long run and that Lux will return to her old life and the people who love her more than anything else. Meanwhile, Kate is pressured by the radio station's executives to deny that she has a daughter in order to save her job.
