An inquiring friend killed in securing MacGyver by a diamond thief with diplomatic immunity. Nicky Carpenter, sister of the friend, collaborates with Maguire against his wishes to expel the diplomat. McGovern was sent there to destroy the wreckage of a plane while the Soviets were trying to reach him.
