Description

No, I am not saying that Hollywood should sugarcoat the history. What I am saying is that there are plenty of ways to depict slavery without the visceral reminders that Outlander delved into here.

There's still something off in the way Outlander handles this story, continuing to place Claire and Jamie on pedestals as it introduces Black characters solely for the purpose of peddling this plot.

[Maria Doyle Kennedy's] addition to the cast this season as Jamie's aunt Jocasta is more than a welcome one, as she brings both the warmth and the shrewdness needed for the character that makes her one you look forward to having in any scene.
