We celebrate that the spotlight of guilt will finally be focused on Gemma, and we also celebrate that Abel should be safer after this episode.

I found "Faith and Despondency" to be full of tension in all the right ways... Maybe those developments weren't appropriately balanced with the relationship stuff, but I didn't mind them rolling out in tandem.

"Faith and Despondency" wrapped up some big storylines, including dispatching Moses and a big chunk of Marks's men, but the biggest developments in the episode belonged to Abel.

This installment is roughly ten minutes longer than anything that's come before it, turning this 70-minute showcase of sex and violence into an agonizing journey into misery.

"Faith And Despondency"... has at least two really, really good scenes; one of them is so good, in fact, that I'd rank it up there with the show at its peak.

The scenes felt realistic, like we were actually watching characters have real conversations rather than just hugging it out or running around shooting people. I've missed that aspect of the show as of late.

This is why we watch Sons. Just when it seems like Jax and the boys are trapped, they break away for a big gain. This is also why we watch Sons: We don't know if Gemma has the same ability.

"Faith and Despondency" is a perfectly serviceable Sons episode, replete with the raunchy fun that appeases the show's fan base and just enough gunfire to keep the installment from dragging too much.
