The League - Season 3
The draft returns to Andre's Chicago loft for the third series of fantasy-football follies among a ruthlessly-competitive group of friends. League champ Ruxin (Nick Kroll) falls victim to some hijnks from the gang, while Andre's (Paul Scheer) extended punishment for finishing last is administered in the first memorable appearance by Seth Rogan as 'Dirty Randy.' His raunchy role is given a run for its money by Sarah Silverman as Andre's promiscuous sister and Brie Larson as a hot au pair for Ruxin's son 'Baby Geoffrey.' Elsewhere, obscure league member Chuck (Will Forte) is introduced, Kevin (Stephen Rannazzisi) and Jenny (Katie Aselton) make a bold bet in the playoffs, and Taco's (Jon Lajoie) odd jobs include a shot at fast-food jingle writing.

Every character on The League repeatedly commits ethically questionable, often idiotic acts, and within these acts of blind foolishness lies the show's black, arresting heart.

Completely unwilling to let logic guide these episodes, the showrunners and actors let their creativity get the best of them, and the results are drop-dead hilarious.

I'm glad that this season of The League moved further into darkly comedic territory, but episodes like this happen when you haven't quite learned how to balance that with the dynamic of the show.
