Season 3 opens with Kryten now a regular member of the crew, therefore Rimmer takes him on a flying lesson in the transport vehicle Starbug. They find themselves whisked away through a time hole, arriving back on Earth, 1993. However, on this world, time runs backwards.

There were still a few growing pains at this stage, and one or two episodes - notably 'Backwards' and 'Bodyswap' - feel more like great concepts than great stories, but series three is still close to as good as it gets.
